The Four Highest Grossing 1990 Films, from Dil to Agnieepath

The Hindi cinema industry saw a number of successes in 1990. Aashiqui, Swarg, Ghar Ho To Aisa, Baaghi, and more movies that were released in the same year were huge commercial successes. The soundtracks of these movies were equally well-liked by the viewers.

Some celebrities engaged in vicious rivalry throughout the year, and Aamir Khan and Sunny Deol were involved in one such episode. They both want a simultaneous release of their films, Dil and Ghayal, respectively. Sunny refused Aamir's request to delay the release. Both movies fared well at the box office, however. 1990 saw the release of two films by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, both of which were successes.

Dil: Sunny Deol's Ghayal and the June 15, 1990 release of the movie Dil clashed. became the top earner for the year. When it was first released, it received positive reviews from reviewers who applauded the cast members' performances as well as the music. The movie had a budget of around Rs 2 crore, and it made about Rs 20 crore at the box office, according to media sources.

Ghayal: One of the most well-liked action drama movies of 1990 was Sunny Deol's Ghayal. Dharmendra produced it, while Rajkumar Santoshi directed it. In addition to Sunny Deol, other notable actors who appeared in the movie were Meenakshi Seshadri, Raj Babbar, Amrish Puri, Moushumi Chatterjee, Annu Kapoor, Om Puri, Sharat Saxena, and Sudesh Berry. The movie reportedly cost 2.5 crore rupees to produce, yet it grossed 20 crore rupees at the box office.

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Prada played the main characters in the 1990 crime drama Aaj Ka Arjun. The movie, which KC Bokadia both produced and directed, was the third-highest-grossing movie of 1990. The movie reportedly was a replica of the Tamil film En Thangachi Padichava from 1988. The movie made around Rs 13 crore in total at the box office.

Agneepath: Agneepath was one of Amitabh Bachchan's most well-known movies. Santosh Saroj and Kader Khan collaborated on the writing, which was directed by Mukul Anand. Mithun Chakraborty, Danny Denzongpa, Raj Singh, and Neelam Kothari all had significant parts in the movie. At the box office, it brought in around Rs. 10.25 crore.
