Ex-IND All-Rounder Highlights Serious Problem with RCB: "If KGF Don't Work Then Who Will Steer the Team"

Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team's three shining stars, have been on full display in almost every match. These three hitters have accounted for the bulk of the team's runs this season, which has seen them win 4 of the team's first 8 games. The fact that the star players are in fantastic shape is unquestionably encouraging, but the performance of the uncapped Indian players has been a huge cause for worry.

RCB will face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) after suffering a humiliating loss to KKR at home. The Faf du Plessis-led team will find it difficult to defeat LSG in their own home despite having a strong middle order. RCB had previously suffered a defeat at home against KL Rahul and company.

Irfan, a former all-rounder for India, believes that RCB seems to be dependent on its top three hitters, Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell. It is alarming that their Indian players have struggled to score runs in IPL 2023.

“RCB will need to find a solution as to who would captain the team if Kohli, Glenn, and Faf are unable to do so. Whether it be Mahipal Lomror or Dinesh Karthik.

RCB's middle order seems to be exceedingly frail. Karthik failed to show the squad that they can depend on him for huge scores or during chases even once in the past eight games. Irfan said on Star Sports' Cricket Live that the RCB management must close this gap in their batting.

With four victories and 8 points, RCB are currently ranked sixth in the points standings. LSG, on the other side, is in second place with five victories.
